[pt] Se tem algo que deixará marcas em nossa vida e sociedade atuais, nestes anos de 2020 e 2021, é a situação de pandemia, causada pelo COVID-19 que estamos vivenciando. A presença de tal situação chama para uma intensa busca de sentido, para que possamos nos situar e manejar as difi culdades que a nós se impõe por tal situação. Este artigo visa apresentar uma análise de parte desse fenômeno: da relação entre o enfrentamento da pandemia causada pelo COVID-19 e a busca pela religião, por parte das mulheres no Brasil, considerando o contexto de patriarcado característico de nossa cultura atual. Para tal, realizamos uma pesquisa bibliográfi ca, onde levantamos as principais características das relações de gênero no Brasil, destacando-se o patriarcado; buscamos em artigos publicados em periódicos especializados e em sites de movimentos sociais que trabalham com mulheres, dados que apresentam informações sobre a incidência e as consequências da presença da pandemia na vida das mulheres. Parte-se do pressuposto que, como em outros aspectos de suas vidas, as crenças e práticas religiosas das mulheres, principalmente se efetivando no âmbito da casa, se intensifi caram nestes tempos, uma vez que também se intensifi caram as situações que representam necessidades de sentido por elas enfrentadas.

[en] If there is one thing that will leave marks in our current life and society, in these years 2020 and 2021, it is the pandemic situation caused by COVID-19 that we are experiencing. The presence of such a situation calls for an intense search for meaning, so that we can situate ourselves and manage the diffi culties that are imposed on us by such a situation. This article aims to present an analysis of part of this phenomenon: the relationship between coping with the pandemic caused by COVID-19 and the search for religion by women in Brazil, considering the context of patriarchy characteristic of our current culture. To this end, we conducted a bibliographical research, where we raise the main characteristics of gender relations in Brazil, highlighting patriarchy; we searched articles published in specialized journals and social movement sites working with women, data that present information on the incidence and consequences of the presence of the pandemic in women’s lives. It is assumed that, as in other aspects of their lives, the religious beliefs and practices of women, especially if effective within the home, have intensifi ed in these times, since situations that represent meaning needs faced by them have also intensifi ed.
