[pt] Este trabalho constitui algo incomum ao construir a trajetória de uma ciência na educação militar, analisando-a num ambiente acadêmico-militar tanto de formação quanto de altos estudos militares para oficiais de carreira do Exército Brasileiro. Assim, pretende-se conciliar o tratamento da dimensão institucional e profissional de personalidades, civis e militares, da história política do país e da história militar do Exército, ao interesse em dar conta de compreender como se processou a institucionalização de uma disciplina das ciências sociais que é o objeto central de nossa investigação, a saber, a Sociologia. Buscou-se apresentar as ações e decisões políticas governamentais e parlamentares nas instituições de força do Estado, em particular na educação militar do Exército, tomadas no período da Primeira República, no período da Primeira e Segunda Era Vargas e no período atual da Nova República que possibilitaram inserir o ensino da Sociologia nas escolas militares do Exército, bem como apresentar as articulações políticas que envolveram as elites militares em consonância com as elites dirigentes brasileiras (governo e parlamento), no processo de institucionalização da Sociologia na educação militar da corporação, nos séculos XIX, XX e XXI.

[en] This work constitutes something unusual when building the trajectory of a science in military education, analyzing it in an academic-military environment, both in terms of training and senior military studies for career officers in the Brazilian Army. Thus, it is intended to reconcile the treatment of the institutional and professional dimension of personalities, civil and military, of the country s political history and the military history of the Army, with the interest in giving an account of understanding how the institutionalization of a discipline in the social sciences took place which is the central object of our investigation, namely, Sociology. We sought to present governmental and parliamentary political actions and decisions in the State s institutions of strength, particularly in the military education of the Army, taken in the period of the First Republic, in the period of the First and Second Era Vargas and in the current period of the New Republic that made it possible to insert the teaching of Sociology in the Army s military schools, as well as to present the political articulations that involved the military elites in consonance with the Brazilian ruling elites (government and parliament), in the institutionalization process of Sociology in the corporation s military education, in the centuries XIX, XX and XXI.
