[pt] Hito Steyerl: mediações tem como ponto de partida a produção críticoartística da alemã que empresta nome ao título. Vinda de uma tradição ensaística, Hito Steyerl se utiliza de vídeos, performance-conferências e textos para criar um trabalho reflexivo entre a estética e a política. Ao especular sobre a produção contemporânea de objetos artísticos e culturais e seus meios de circulação, Steyerl demonstra como as tecnologias da imagem agenciam e determinam nossa percepção e experiência, dada a impossibilidade de se dissociar sua política dos dispositivos tecnológicos e dos sistemas midiáticos, bélicos e financeiros. Nesta pesquisa, a obra da artista, que possui uma teoria integrada, é tomada como mediadora para a abordagem dos seguintes temas: a arte (contemporânea) simultaneamente como alvo e escudo de um capitalismo transnacional global; os documentos como catalisadores de eventos; as informações e suas interfaces relacionadas à capacidade de circulação e transformação; a imagem, em sua materialidade, para além da representação, como coisa; e as coisas (objetos) - assim como a arte, os documentos, as informações e as imagens - como agentes ativos, deflagradores de realidades. Todas essas formas de comunicar, por sua vez, serão tratadas aqui como mediações entre os seres humanos e o mundo.

[en] Hito Steyerl: mediações has its starting point in the critical-artistic production of the German artist who lends her name to this title. Coming from an essayistic background, Hito Steyerl makes use of videos, lecture-performances and written texts in order to create a reflexive work situated between aesthetics and politics. By speculating on the production of artistic and cultural objects and their means of circulation, Steyerl demonstrates how technologies of image have agency in our perception and experience, given the impossibility of dissociating the politics of images from the politics of their technological devices, war, media systems and financial capital. This research takes the theory-integrated work of Hito Steyerl as a medium for approaching the following subjects: (contemporary) art, understood simultaneously as target and proxy for global and transnational capitalism; documents as catalysts of events; information and its interfaces in their ability to circulate and be transformed; image, in its materiality, beyond representation, as a thing; And things (objects) - just like art, documents, information and images - as active agents, triggers of realities. All these subjects, in turn, will be treated here as mediations between human beings and the world, as ways of communicating.
