[pt] A pedagogia "toca" a dimensão do mais profundo da existência, aquilo que é a essência de todas as coisas e que dá sentido à vida: a dimensão do espiritual. Para enfrentar o desafio da educação nos grandes centros urbanos, precisamos estar impregnados de uma força que nos motive, algo mais profundo que dá sentido ao trabalho pedagógico: a espiritualidade. Ao apresentarmos, neste texto, os fundamentos da pedagogia cristã e da pedagogia de inspiração inaciana, queremos ir pontuando elementos importantes que mostram como uma prática educacional fortalecida pela espiritualidade pode dar excelente contribuição ao processo de evangelização no meio urbano.

[en] Pedagogy "touches" the dimension of the most profound in all existence, that which is the essence of all things and which gives sense to life: the dimension of the spiritual. In order to confront the challenge of education in large urban centers, we need to be impregnated with a force which motivates us, something more profound which gives sense to pedagogic activity: spirituality. By presenting in this paper the foundations of Christian pedagogy and pedagogy of Ignatian inspiration, we wish to move forward by pointing out important elements which show how an educational practice strengthened by spirituality can make an excellent contribution to the process of evangelizing in the urban environment.
