[pt] Este trabalho pretende tecer alguns comentários sobre o que seria "Culturas viajantes". Esse tema se torna pertinente porque está no âmago das grandes discussões hoje. Primeiro que tudo, tomamos o estudo da antropologia cultural com a amplitude devida. Este texto vai nessa direção. Propõe-se a fazer uma reflexão mais abrangente possível levando em conta aspectos da existência humana, biológica e cultural, passada e presente porque a vida não se vive por categorias, mas é um processo sempre contínuo. Para isso, trazemos à tona alguns autores clássicos da antropologia urbana. Nossa intenção também é fazer um convite à leitura atenta da cidade. Convidamos a olhar a cidade como um palco, onde acontece tudo da Idade Contemporânea, onde acontece todo tipo de relação. No ano de 2002, o IBGE divulgou os resultados da chamada tabulação avançada dos dados preliminares do Censo. Procuramos abordar aqui os resultados relativos à questão Religião. Também para saber qual é o perfil do católico brasileiro, o Instituto Nacional de Pastoral (CNBB) solicitou ao CERIS (Centro de Estatística Religiosa e Investigações Sociais) a Pesquisa Tendências Atuais do Catolicismo no Brasil. Com esses dados,fazemos algumas considerações que questionam o fazer pastoral na cidade. Daí, o apelo de uma Pastoral da Cultura.

[en] This paper aims to weave together some commentaries on what "Traveling Cultures" might be. This topic has become pertinent because it is at the core of major debates today. First of all, we tackle the study of cultural anthropology with the due depth. This text goes in that direction. It sets out to make the fullest possible reflection taking into account aspects of human existence, both biological and cultural, from the past and today, because life is not lived in categories but is a never-ending process. Therefore, we draw on some classical authors of urban anthropology. Our aim is also to extend an invitation for an attentive reading of the city. Our invitation is to regard the city as a stage on which everything in the Contemporary Age has been taking place, and on which every sort of relationship is realized. In 2002, the IBGE (the Brazilian Statistical Office) published the results of the so-called advanced tables of the preliminary data of the Census. We seek to approach these results in relation to the question of Religion. And also, to learn what the profile is of the Brazilian Catholic, the National Institute for Pastoral Matters (CNBB) requested the Center for Religious Statistics and Social Investigations (CERIS) to undertake a Survey of Current Tendencies of Catholicism in Brazil. With these data, we put forward some considerations which question pastoral activities in the city. From this, the appeal for a Pastoral for Culture.
