[pt] Este trabalho tem como principal objetivo investigar como ocorreu o processo de sucessão familiar em uma empresa de pequeno porte do setor automotivo e as consequências deste processo para a empresa, que atravessou um significativo processo de profissionalização. Para isso, foram realizadas entrevistas pessoais com os participantes do processo e outros envolvidos, além da análise de documentos da empresa que comprovam os resultados do processo de sucessão. Os resultados deste trabalho evidenciam a importância do planejamento da sucessão, além de apresentar também o potencial de gerar resultados que profissionais habilitados têm dentro do ambiente organizacional.

[en] This study has as main objective to investigate how the process of family succession occurred in a small family business in the automotive sector and its consequences for the business, which went through a significant professionalization process. For this, personal interviews with the participants of the process and others involved were carried out, besides the analysis of company documents that prove the results of the process of succession. The results of this study highlight the importance of succession planning, as well as the potential to generate results that qualified professionals have when inserted in the organizational environment.
