Resumo
[en] This paper aims to describe how I have monitored my pedagogic practice as a way to understand some classroom issues, and how I used Exploratory Practice in order to understand my students puzzles. The pupils involved in this research are fifth graders, at a bilingual school, studying science in English. After having presented their science posters, they did not seem to be satisfied with their performance, and they had some puzzles in their minds, which led them into the activities that followed. The outcomes of these actions were a landmark not only in the way I used to view my role as an EFL teacher, but also in my perceptions of my students learning and understandings. This work shall be relevant to other teachers, learner teachers, and researchers who, like me, also see their classrooms as a live environment in which and through which puzzles can be the source of relentless investigations and understandings that motivate our pedagogy, making teaching more of a pleasant job and less of a burden.
