[pt] O trabalho reflete sobre o uso das palavras lá e aí , já que além do valor locativo original formam expressões idiomáticas e convencionais segundo os conceitos de Tagnin (1989). Para análise dos dados foram escolhidos os aspectos da combinabilidade dos elementos formadores das expressões, o(s) valor(es) semântico(s) e a aplicabilidade estratégico-pragmática de cada uma das formas estudadas. Alguns casos de valor locativo também são abordados.A teoria Funcionalista de Dick, ampliada pelo aporte de Hengeveld com a Gramática Funcional Discursiva (GFD), foi utilizada como base para as análises. Todos os elementos analisados foram retirados do uso e emprego do português na variante brasileira.A justificativa desta pesquisa se dá pela necessidade de aprofundamento do conhecimento do uso das palavras citadas ( lá e aí ), principalmente no que diz respeito ao ensino de português como língua estrangeira para hispanos falantes.

[en] The work reflects on the use of the words lá and aí (Portuguese words for there) since, apart from their original locative value, they also constitute idiomatic or conventional expressions, according to the concepts of Tagnin (1989). For the analysis of the data, the aspects of the combinability of the elements constituting these expressions, the semantic value(s) and the strategic-practical applicability of each of the forms studied were chosen. Some locative-value cases are also dealt with. The analyses were based on Dick s functionalist theory, broadened by the contribution of Hengeveld s Functional Discourse Grammar (FDG). All the elements analyzed were taken from the usage of the Brazilian variety of the Portuguese language. The justification of this investigation is the need of a serious study of the knowledge of the usage of the abovementioned words (lá and aí), especially in regards to teaching Portuguese as a foreign language to Spanish speakers.
