[pt] O presente trabalho tem como objetivo suscitar reflexões acerca da importância do exercício criativo no desenvolvimento emocional de crianças e jovens, moradores de comunidades, à luz da teoria de Donald W. Winnicott, colocando em evidência os temas da violência e do preconceito, presentes significativamente em seus cotidianos. Esta temática surgiu a partir da experiência da pesquisadora como coordenadora de um projeto social, cujo principal objetivo é reforçar, através da linguagem artística, a identidade de crianças e adolescentes expostos à violência e ao descaso social. A partir dos resultados observados durante o processo desse trabalho, o desejo de refletir sobre a importância do processo criativo fez-se presente. O recurso à arte pode representar uma forma eficaz de reforço da singularidade, superando o esvaziamento simbólico que se faz presente no lado excluído de uma cidade partida. Partindo desse pressuposto, será examinado o processo criativo desenvolvido em um projeto social voltado para uma comunidade da zona norte do Rio de Janeiro, e que culminou na realização de uma instalação artística intitulada O Muro.

[en] This study aims to raise reflections about the importance of creative exercise in emotional development of children and adolescents, residents of communities, in the light of Donald W. Winnicott s theory, highlighting the themes of violence and prejudice, significantly present in their daily lives. This theme emerged from the experience of the researcher as the coordinator of a social project, whose main objective is to strengthen, through artistic language, the identity of children and adolescents exposed to violence and social neglect. Based on the results observed during the process of this work, the desire to reflect on the importance of the creative process has arisen. The use of art can represent an effective way of strengthening the uniqueness, overcoming the symbolic emptying which is present in the excluded part of a divided city. Based on this assumption, this work will examine the creative process developed on a social project aimed for a community in the north zone of Rio de Janeiro, which culminated in an artistic installation entitled The Wall.
