[pt] A pesquisa tem como objetivo apresentar a riqueza do cristianismo conservada na Tradição escrita como tesouro da Igreja. O texto se divide em três partes. A primeira parte apresenta a Patrística como fonte de inspiração para a vida da Igreja. A segunda parte oferece um estudo comparativo sobre a fi gura dos dois Padres da Igreja: São João Crisóstomo e São Gregório Magno, representantes, um do Oriente e outro do Ocidente. Procura-se apresentar a Regra pastoral de Gregório Magno e O Sacerdócio de João Crisóstomo como uma fonte de inspiração para os candidatos à vida presbiteral. São apresentados: o contexto e os desafios; a experiência de vida monástica e a fuga diante da dignidade episcopal. A terceira parte apresenta reflexões que podem oferecer novas luzes e inspirações para o exercício do ministério pastoral hoje. Destacam-se a mentalidade mundana, as absurdidades nas eleições e os requisitos para a eleição de um pastor de almas. Conclui-se com particular atenção sobre a beleza e a grandeza do ministério presbiteral de assumir o governo das almas.

[en] The research aims to present the wealth of conserved Christianism in written Tradition as the Church s treasure. The text is divided in three parts. The fi rst part presents the Patristic as a source of inspiration for church life. The second part offers a comparative study of two priests: St. Jhon Chrysotom and St. Gregory Magno, one eastern and one western. Looking to present St. Gregory’s pastoral letter and St. Jhon’s priesthood as a source of inspiration for all candidates of Presbyterian life. Presenting: the context and the challenges; monastic life experience and the fl ight facing Episcopal dignity. The third part presents refl ections that can offer new lights and inspirations for the exercise of today’s pastoral ministry. Highlighting the mundane mentality, the absurdities of elections and the requirements for the election of a souls Pastor. In conclusion, with particular attention on the beauty and the greatness of the Presbyterian Ministry to take charge of the soul government.
