[pt] O foco do artigo é a busca de referências teórico-metodológicas de apoio à produção autoral de narrativas por crianças, em diferentes linguagens e mídias. O ponto de partida é uma pesquisa realizada junto à rede municipal de ensino da cidade de Nova York (EUA), sobre a relação entre crianças e mídias. No horizonte geral da pesquisa, estão os desafios de integrar a mídia-educação aos anos iniciais do ensino fundamental, valorizando tanto o potencial dos novos letramentos como as narrativas orais nos contextos culturais locais. Entre as referências teóricas que ajudam a elaborar o tema, estão as reflexões sobre novos letramentos a partir, principalmente, de M. Knobel e C. Lanshear.

[en] This article focuses on the search for theoretical-methodological references to support the production of narratives by children in different languages and media. It is based on a study conducted in the New York City (USA) municipal public school system about the relationship between children and media. The study’s broader horizon includes the challenges of integrating media-education to early elementary school grades, emphasizing the potential of both new literacies and oral narratives in local cultural contexts. The theoretical references that help to develop the theme include reflections on new literacies based mainly on M. Knobel and C. Lanshear.
