[pt] Esta pesquisa trata do processo de identificação de gemas, com foco na esmeralda. Diante da grande variedade de gemas e da capacidade humana de produzir materiais sintéticos e imitações quase perfeitas, considera-se de extrema relevância que o designer saiba diferenciar os tipos disponíveis no mercado e os equipamentos e etapas de investigação que podem auxiliá-lo neste processo.
Resumo
[en] This research deals with the identification of gemstones, focused on emerald. Considering the variety of gems, and the human capacity to produce almost perfect imitations and synthetic gemstones, it is extremely important that a designer knows how to identify these materials, and what research steps and equipments may assist this process.
