[pt] A pesquisa pretende investigar as relações entre violência e democracia, tendo como referência principal os pensamentos de Spinoza e Marx. Abordaremos, no primeiro capítulo, alguns de seus conceitos, que entendemos fundamentais para a compreensão teórica e prática da política. A partir de conceitos como imanência, conatus e modo de produção, vemos que a política emerge das relações estabelecidas entre os seres humanos para produzir os meios de perseverar na existência e das características histórico-naturais da sociabilidade humana, nas suas duas expressões centrais: cooperação e conflito. A violência dos conflitos e das causas exteriores, bem como o modo particular de cooperação estabelecido para enfrentá-los, são elementos da constituição do corpo social, o que é objeto do segundo capítulo, onde analisamos as relações entre capitalismo, violência, soberania e direito. Neste capítulo, estudamos a violência fundadora da soberania do Estado e das relações de produção capitalistas, avançando na direção de compreendê-la como obstáculo à realização radical da democracia. Observamos, ademais, que o obstáculo da violência soberana e das relações de produção retrocede quando desafiado pela potência do povo armado. Apesar disso, as relações entre as explosões populares violentas e a democracia seguem contraditórias. No terceiro e último capítulo, enfrentamos esta contradição e procuramos entender em que medida as relações entre os corpos armados e o poder popular constituem, ao mesmo tempo, ameaça para a radicalização da democracia e esperança de sua realização.

[en] The research aims to investigate the relationship between violence and democracy, having as a main reference the thoughts of Spinoza and Marx. We approach, in the first chapter, some of its concepts, which we understand as fundamental for a theoretical and practical comprehension of democracy. From concepts like immanence, conatus and mode of production, we see that politics emerges within the relations established between human beings to produce the means to persevere in existence, and from historical and natural characteristics of human sociability, in its two central expressions: cooperation and conflict. The violence of conflicts and external causes, as well as the particular mode of cooperation established to confront them, are elements of the constitution of the social body, which is the subject of the second chapter, where we analyze the relationship between capitalism, violence, sovereignty and law. In this chapter, we study the founding violence of state sovereignty and capitalist relations of production, advancing towards understanding it as an obstacle to the achievement of radical democracy. We observed, moreover, that the obstacle of sovereign violence and relations of production back when challenged by the armed power of the people. Nevertheless, the relationship between democracy and violent popular explosions remains contradictory. In the third and final chapter, we face this contradiction, as we seek to understand the extent to which relations between the armed bodies and the popular power constitutes, at the same time, a threat to the radicalization of democracy and the hope for its realization.
