[en] Considering the importance of the school and its management for the production of educational quality, the text develops considerations about different styles of school management in three different institutional contexts, using the field research data carried out by SOCED in prestigious schools in the City of Rio de Janeiro. In the first part we show the main features of each school in terms of trajectory, reputation, guide values and organizational culture, recording the peculiarities found. After that, we focus on the management models taken in terms of organizational structures, leadership, decisional flow and personnel policies. In the third part we analyze the relations among the educational agents, in order to identify the nature of their cohesion around the educational project, as well as, their mobilization to apply the school rules, as fundamental aspects for the construction of the school identity with relevant reflects in the students performance.
