Resumo
[pt] A revisão de tradução tem imagem de atividade secundária e
inócua, da
qual se costuma exigir a invisibilidade. No entanto, é uma
intervenção que
representa uma etapa importante do processo tradutório, e
que necessita de um
estudo mais aprofundado. Este trabalho tem como intuito
discutir a questão da
avaliaão de tradução com base no estudo de intervenções
feitas por revisores de
tradução. Para tanto, fazemos uma análise comparativa de
trechos de traduções de
legendas de programas para TV a cabo, de textos literários
e de textos técnicos,
antes e depois de tais traduções terem passado pelo
processo de revisão. Nosso
objetivo é identificar que espécies de intervenções são
feitas pelos revisores no
texto traduzido. Esse estudo se dá à luz de teorias não-
imanentistas do significado,
repensando as definições dos conceitos de tradução,
adaptação, erro e avaliação,
assim como as implicações que o questionamento de tais
conceitos tem sobre a
prática aqui em análise. Tomando por base, em especial,
noções wittgensteinianas
de linguagem, examinamos alguns dos principais elementos,
personagens e forças
envolvidos no processo de avaliação de tradução e as
relações entre eles.
Analisamos assim o papel do revisor na avaliação de
tradução: as estratégias que
utiliza, a intervenção que executa e a autoridade que
exerce no processo.
Resumo
[en] Despite its image as a secondary and innocuous activity
and the demand
for its invisibility, translation revision is an important
interventional step of the
translation process that deserves serious study. The
present work has as its
objective the discussion of translation evaluation on the
basis of the study of the
interventions made by translation revisers. To do this, we
comparatively analyze
revisions of translations of subtitles for cable TV,
literary texts, and technical
texts, before and after they have undergone the revision
process. Our intention is
to identify the different interventions made by revisers
in the translated texts. We
analyze translation revision in the light of non-
immanentist theories of meaning,
rethinking the definitions of translation, adaptation,
error and evaluation, as well
as the implications of the questioning of these concepts
for the practical work of
revision. In particular, we rely on Wittgensteinian
notions of language in our
discussion of the process of translation evaluation, some
of its main elements,
roles and forces, and the relation between them. Thus, we
analyze the role of
revisers in translation evaluation: the strategies they
use, the intervention they
make and their authority in this process.
