Been born under the sign of the rupture and in the way of a turbulent period of transformations for which it passed the sort samba, in the turn of the decade of 1920 for the decade of 1930, the samba-enredo appears, and it confuses, with a new style of samba that starts to answer to the necessities demanded for a new form of aesthetic expression of the samba and the carnival, the parade of the blocks (later samba schools). Understanding, then, the samba-enredo as a construction directly to the carnival and its pair, the samba school, and still as carrying of a specific language, tied with a proper culture, we observe that throughout its existence, principally in the last decades, this samba comes depriving of characteristics in its form and content. Inside of this context the central objective of this work is to search the probable origins of these transformations and to prove until point they changed themselves into a process of crisis that can lead to the disappearance of the samba-enredo, at least in their traditional form.
