Youth has been the subject of research in recent decades with different approaches and paths, but the study of youth as a teacher in formation is still deficient according to the survey of the work production done for the preparation of this thesis, which fits into the field and it addresses the perception of young people from 16 to 20 years old, who experience their youth condition as high school students graduating in a teacher training school, a normal course located in Baixada Fluminense and they constitute an imperceptible reality in the scenario of enrollment either High School in Brazil or in the state of Rio de Janeiro. However, they are young, social people and represent a minority who live their youth condition in a certain context and under determined and determinant social conditions. In the search to know how these young people perceive their youthful condition, some theoretic-methodological strategies were adopted, such as filling out a socioeconomic questionnaire, storytelling and conducting a focus group, placing the narrative as the guiding axis of the research, which has in language its centrality. The context of the research, in Baixada Fluminense, is presented from census data and national samples, presented in order to situate the field and the subjects. The concept of youth condition and the approach of youth in high school are guided by studies of the youth field, in addition to the contributions of the research Agenda Juventude Brasil (2016). The listening of young people was guided by the exercise of their recognition as a historical and a social subject, inserted in a context, produced and producer of culture, which carries different ways of perceiving themselves in their youthful condition and their different ways of experiencing it inside and outside the school, the approximations and distances in the his sef-perception of being young and being young high school student in the Normal mode make it possible to identify him that as a young normalist.
