Resumo:
The nautical segment has experienced a sharp decrease since 2013, with a period of stagnation between the years 2016 and 2017. Despite the fear of appreciation of the dollar over production costs, according to manufacturers, the market began a process of recovery and improvement of the business, with a growth perspective above 10 percent for the present year of 2018. In this scenario the builders and designers invest in research for structures that maximize strength and efficiency and minimize manufacturing costs such as material and labor. Understanding the structural and hydrodynamic behavior of vessels is of fundamental importance to know for example the regions where more material is required and those that need less, and also to optimize the geometry of the boat to guarantee better navigability as well as lower energy expenditure. In a scenario in which the different classifying societies still differ in relation to the various aspects associated with the structural design of high speed vessels, even though statistical methods provide good results at a preliminary design level, they do not cover any other possible variations of form. As experimental tests are expensive and laborious, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation software becomes a very interesting way to carry out this study. The present work has as objective to analyze the structural behavior of a 31-foot vessel in the situation of greater demand. The situation is defined considering the minimum allowed thickness of the laminate, sailing in a sea of maximum wave size for the class of vessel considered and still for different speeds. Firstly, the actuating forces, ie the vessel pressures, were calculated according to the DNV GL, an accredited registrar and classification society, and then applied and defined in the Ansys finite element software. The results should then be compared to the strength of the material to ensure project fidelity.
