Resumo:
The history of early childhood education was born imbricated with the social history of mankind. The Industrial Revolution marks the beggining of that relationship, and from this moment on we notice the drastic changes within the human relations. The new production model has generated pressures for women to take place in the new jobs offered by the industrial market, and the child s education, which was previously the responsibility of families and the community that surrounded it, had to be delegated to schools.During this period, to meet the demand presented by this new labor market, began the construction of pre-schools and kindergartens, however without pedagogies and a pre-established law to ensured compliance. In Brazil, only on the mid 80 s, legislation moves forward in order to initiate the establishment of guidelines for teaching early childhood education. Meanwhile, in this context of industrialization, intensified by the consumer market, featuring, consequently, new habits to families and the whole world. The urbanization process holds on the dichotomy x man nature, and pre-schools that are born of this model, convey this thought in their relationship with students, constituting a crisis of civilization where children are born encased in a synthetic scene and prevented, increasingly, to perform in the free play outdoors, in nature and with his own body. In that sense this research seeks to explore the context of this break in the first year of life of the individual - age at which the child is building self-perception and the world around - seeking to reflect the importance of contact child x nature and whether this relationship can be established within the contemporary schools. This study was conducted from literature research and perceptions held within a private school located in Rio de Janeiro, Barra da Tijuca, in the Environmental Interaction Class.
