There is an unwavering commitment at MAA in supporting attitudes and values such as communication skills, flexibility, respect for others, tolerance. These principles result in the appreciation of the doctor-patient relationship promoting greater bond and host. This project aims to present a model for a Pre and Postopperative course in Plastic Surgery for a Medical PostGraduate program based on active methods of teaching and learning and demonstrate that these methods are effective not only for the development of the technical competence but also to improve the promoter, communicator, manager and collaborative competences less valued in traditional methodology. This course was held at the Ivo Pitanguy Institute in August 2016 and employed the TBL (Team-Based Learning), PBL (Problem-Based Learning), Socratic Circle and Sociodrama methods. The promoter, communicator, collaborative and manager competences were evaluated through discursive tests performed before and after the course. Technical competence was assessed by objective test at the end of the course and these results were compared to the Course held with the traditional methodology in the previous year with the same evaluation tool. The results showed a significant increase in technical, promoter and communicator competences through MAA. There was no significant variation in collaborative and manager competences. It can be concluded that the use of these methods was of great value to the theoretical learning of the student, with emphasis on the development of communicator and promoter competences, elementary for good medical practice.
