Resumo:
In recent years the Brazilian Navy Health s Service grew in the amount of medical care as soon also increased spending in this area, especially with health supplies, whose obtainment and storage are decentralized. The Health Military Organizations are scattered by the States of Brazil and far from manufacturers and suppliers, so the costs of transport and storage become very costly to this supply chain. Facility location is a strategic factor with direct consequences on the performance and operation to the supply chain and its success or failure. In this context, this study aims to propose the improvement the Navy s health supplies supply chain through the location of a central warehouse of these supplies. The location of the central warehouse is determined using a mathematical location model with risk pooling aim to minimize the total distribution system cost. Based on demand information provided by the Health Military Organizations the model was tested for nine warehouse candidates and State of Rio de Janeiro was selected. The proposed solution allows reducing by about 32 per cent the cost of the system compared with the current and also to expand meet the demands for a service level of 95 per cent.
