People with disabilities, in its historical process, have suffered various types of storms by having a difference of a physical, sensory or mental. Related to people with intellectual disabilities, the process of acceptance and integration of different subjects did not happen in a linear and easy. In search of dissociating mental illness with mental retardation associated with the current theoretical humanities and social sciences were formulated by the constitution and consolidation of the subject as mentally handicapped citizen rights and you can enter the job market. In this dissertation, the goal is to identify and analyze the factors that hinder the entry and maintenance of people with intellectual disabilities in the labor market in large companies of the Industrial Pole of Manaus / AM considering the applicability of the Law of Quotas, as regards the inclusion of persons with disabilities. For this exploratory research will be a spot in HR for some companies of the Industrial District of Manaus that have over one thousand employees in specialized institutions and government agencies. Was also conducted literature and documents on the subject? We conclude briefly that people with intellectual disabilities still suffer prejudice because they are considered weak or unable to perform one job at a company with people with sensory disabilities related to hearing and vision preferred to occupy the positions offered to the segment as the legislation by having a qualified and do not represent a major cost more in the adaptation of the workplace.
