This thesis is the result of studies and research in the field of sexual and gender dissidence of the LGBT homeless population, focusing on understanding the implications of ritualization on the ways of life and living of this subaltern group subjected to the processes of poverty and colonial and capitalist violence present in the urban spaces of the Baixada Fluminense in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The thesis analyzed the process of ritualization and its impact on the lives of LGBT people with a history of homelessness, based on their narratives and perceptions of living on the streets. In general, the aim was to understand the repercussions that the process of ritualization has on LGBT people who use the public spaces of Rio de Janeiro s Baixada Fluminense as places of survival, in the face of the processes of oppression to which they are subjected in an unequal, unjust and challenging social context. The State of the Art was drawn up using an integrative literature review and a survey of theses and dissertations, which culminated in the creation of a preliminary documentary base on the topics researched, which helped guide the research design. Next, from a decolonial approach, the methodological path consisted of qualitative research with eight semi-structured interviews and participant observation, using a field diary. For data analysis, the technique of nuclei of meaning was used, identifying, briefly, that ritualization has a direct impact on the ways of life and living of homeless LGBT people, through structural processes of violence and oppression combined with racism, LGBTphobia and aporophobia, establishing the inseparability of the analysis of the markers of race, gender and class in the meanings established by the participating subjects. Based on the narratives presented by the people interviewed, it can be concluded that talking about LGBT homeless people requires attention to the particularities of a subaltern and dissident group, which coexists in an unequal, violent and dehumanizing urban space. The statements analyzed point to a reality of daily struggles that claim the right to exist and resist in a society that is the product of a cisheteronormative sociability, engendered in standards of value imposed by the neoconservative ideology, the fruit of a colonial heritage that persists in the annihilation and subversion of the Other.
