This research data conducted by the president of Ascolpra and 10 barraqueiros from Ipanema Beach in order to understand: the innovative profile; ability to take risks; and seize opportunities of these merchants. The interest aroused data with a view to a future training focus on customer loyalty and managing the business due to growing demand tourist in Rio de Janeiro during the years 2014 and 2016. The methodology applied was an exploratory qualitative approach. From results it can be highlighted a commerce negligent in managing a trade of goods and services and in hiring unskilled workers, the distorted idea about what a business is supposed to be, inefficiency in the joint innovation and denying efforts to expand knowledge about the business itself. Results also showed an laid back attitudeand a personal dissatisfaction with the implementation of Project Rio, Praia Linda.
