The XXth century, as well as the XIXth and many before that, was a century wich medical theories marked the history of the people diagnosticated with the epilepsy sindrome. They left to the studious of history of medicine vestiges of isolation, of discrimination sofered by those people, practiced not only by laymen, but also by the doctors themselves. This memory is registered in many ways of communication, among them the specialized manual of legal medicine and criminology. And is over those productions that this work bends. The association between epilepsy and crime, also present in the mentioned productions destined to the pacients with epilepsy diferent stigmas, that certanly had not yet been abandonned. This work points to the fact that was this connection that allowed the entrance of the doctors among the jurists’ ambiency. Once the sindrome was the responsible for the crimes commmited by those people, the justice needed medicine to the accused, in order to judge them as responsable or not for their own crimes.
