VOLTAGE DIVIDER

SIMULATOR

• The value of each voltage is given by:
V_{n} = \frac{(R_{n})(V)}{R_{eq}}

Where:

n = 1, \; 2, \;3, \; ..., \;N

V is the voltage of the source

R_{eq}is the equivant resistance

In case you do not recall how to compute the equivalent resistance, use the simulator Association of Linear Electrical Elements.

• The power dissipated in each resistor:
P_{n} = \frac{(R_{n})(V_{n})^2}{(R_{eq})^2}

• The total power in the circuit:
P = (V)(i)

• The current in the circuit:
i = \frac{V}{R_{eq}}

Consider N = 5, and enter the values of the voltage of the source and resistances of the five resistors. Do not leave empty boxes.

V = V   R_1= \Omega  R_2 = \Omega   R_3 = \Omega

R_4 = \Omega  R_5 = \Omega
