FOURIER TRANSFORM OF THE UNIT PULSE

INTRODUCTION

The unit continuous time pulse is very important in engineering. Its Fourier Transform is part of all text books in Signals & Systems. In general, the unit pulse is introduced as a function centered at the origin.

The simulations of the Fourier Transform of the Unit Pulse are performed online and in real time using Scilab (https://www.scilab.org/).Scilab is connected to the Maxwell System so that it executes its functions using this system as its front end to the Internet.

What is Scilab? See the answer to this question of the Scilab page https://www.scilab.org/about.

What is Scilab?

Scilab is a free and open source software for engineers & scientists, with a long history (first release in 1994) and a growing community (100 000 downloads every months worldwide).

Scilab is available under de GPL License . What does it mean? You have the freedom to:

* use the software for any purpose
* change the software to suit your needs,
* share the software with your friends and neighbors, and
* share the changes you make.

Important Information: The SciLab code used in Exercise 1 was obtained in Project SciLab.In (http://scilab.in/), some enhancements were made. We thank this project for making is products available under a Creative Commons Share Alike 4.0 License (http://www.creativecommons.org/).
