PROPER TRANSFER FUNCTION

A proper transfer function represents a causal CT-LTIS that has instantaneous transmission from input to output. For this reason, its impulse response has an impulse in t = 0.

To determine the transfer function of such system b_{0} = 1 and b_{1} = 0. The function becomes:

H(s) = \frac{s}{s+a}

The analysis of this function is divided in two parts. The first is in the time domain and computes the responses to the unit impulse, the unit step and a sinusoid, as mentioned before. The second is devoted to the Bode Diagram.

• Responses in the Time Domain

Compute the responses to the given functions. For each one, fill the "boxes" with the values of the parameters.

Impulse Response

     a =        Final Time =  s

Step Response

     a=       Final Time =  s

Response to a Sinusoid

     a =       Final Time =  s

     Frequency =  Hz     Amplitude =

• Bode Diagram

To compute the Bode Diagram, fill the "boxes" with the values of the parameters.

a =        Frequency from a  Hz
