NYQUIST STABILITY CRITERION

EXERCISE 2

Consider the system represented by the block diagram:

Determine
a) For K = 1 and a = -1, determine P, Z and N from the Nyquist plot and if the system is stable.
b) For K = 1, change the value of the pole by varying ‘a’ from -1 to -5 and observe what happens with the Nyquist plot. For a = -5, determine P, Z, N and if the system is stable.
c) For a = -5, change the value of K and determine P, Z and N using the Nyquist plot and if the system is stable for the cases K = 1, 2 and 3.
